At first it stuttered, it locked up (froze), it did all kinds of weird crap. Focusrite support told me choosing 24 bit in my DAW is getting me 24 bit tracks so I'm just going with that explanation and my tracks sound fine to me.Īdmittedly, I really had to work with this thing to get things right. Like some of the others here I was confused with the restrictive 24 bit option in the Focusrite panel but was still able to choose 24 bit in my DAW (Sonar X1). It's not my main rig but I'd bought a new laptop and chose the 2i2 as an interface for the new lappie. Just to throw in my own experience with the 2i2, I've been recording with it for 3 months now and enjoy it. My previous Line 6 Pod GX cheaper interface didn't had those problems at all at least. Might be that that is causing timing issues, don't know. I do believe I have my i7-860 overclocked a bit, by raising my motherboard bus from 133 to 166. My Steelseries Sibera USB headset doesn't have this problem, so it's not my USB bus giving out or something. Playing Rocksmith is quite annoying if it stops handling audio all of a sudden. I have to unplug and replug the USB cable and it works (most programs it even works straight away without restarting it, but still).
#Focusrite asio driver no sound fl studio windows#
Running on Windows7 圆4 btw, but using 32bit Reaper / VSTs.Īlso, if I use it in Windows as a regular DirectSound device (games / movies) it has the tendency to just stop producing audio every hour or so. Might be a Scarlett driver issue, might be a Reaper issue. While trying to master a track after 3 or 4 try-out renders the audio driver just stops and I have to restart Reaper. Some days I can track and mix for hours (and long nights) without issues. I have to close reaper and restart it and then it works again. The Focusrite ASIO driver reports no inputs / outputs then. Reaper doesn't crash, but after rendering a few times it sometimes says there's a problem with the audio device. My Reaper (in a 24bit / 48 project) still has some issues that it gives up on me sometimes. Changing an existing project in Reaper from 48 to 96 locks Reaper up most of the time. Starting any new project in 96 also works fine. But in Cantabile for example, turning the audio engine off, changing the settings to 96 and starting it again works just fine. Like you guys, changing a project or program from 44.1/48 to 96 has the tendency to lock it up. We have a proper ASIO device in Scarlett's, so don't ever ever ever use ASIO4ALL for those.

You use ASIO4ALL if you DON'T have a proper ASIO device, and want to emulate ASIO support for things like onboard audio. You don't use ASIO4ALL!!! No no no no no. My scarlett also has only 16bit options in the control panel, but Reaper is saying 24bit no problem. Whatever is in the default Windows settings, has _nothing_ to do with how your device behaves through ASIO (and all DAW's). if you have a scarlett, you have a proper ASIO device. Hopefully that will inspire current owners of FR interfaces to seek help from FR Support as well.Hmm. My present soundcard is working perfectly but I could use the I/O capabilities of the 6i6 hence my interest.Īnyway I posted your response at the IL Forums in one of the Focusrite threads.

Certainly you can understand my concern for being a wise shopper. Once again if Focusrite Tech Support could shake hands with Image-Line Tech Support it could only be a good thing.Īs someone who is interested in purchasing the 6i6 I have been following all threads about FR and/or FL issues and based on what I've read I have some concern about them functioning flawlessly together. It's not possible to tell for certain at this point which side the fault lies if there are indeed issues. It is possible the issue lies with FL Studio so posting there makes perfect sense. Those people posted at the Image-Line Forums because they were having issues with Focusrite Interfaces and FL Studio which of course is Image-Line's DAW. Thanks for your response but the only problem I'm having at the moment is buying a 6i6 with confidence since I intend to use it heavily with FL Studio.
